Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, company benefits, job costing, and financial reporting.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Partner closely with operations to analyze project performance, cost structures, inventory, and profitability.
Maintain strong inventory control processes and monitor scrap rates to ensure accurate cost reporting, reduce waste, and support overall operational efficiency.
Provide strategic financial analysis and operational insights to senior leadership to support company goals and growth initiatives.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in financial reporting.
Work closely with the Leadership Team to build, manage, and lead the Lindon Group Finance Team.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to finance and accounting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
5–7+ years minimum of experience in a Controller role, ideally within construction, manufacturing, distribution, or other project-based industries.
Deep understanding of operational finance, cost accounting, and project/job costing.
Proven leadership and team development experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting, ERP and MRP software (e.g., DDI Advantiv, ASA, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, Viewpoint, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
