The City of Beavercreek Police Department invites OPOTA-certified applicants to apply for the position of Police Officer. Beavercreek Police Department is a nationally accredited agency with a community-oriented policing philosophy serving a growing city in Greene County, Ohio. The position involves a 10-hour patrol schedule with rotating workdays. Salary And Benefits

The successful applicant will receive salary and benefits competitive with the private sector. The starting salary range, based on experience and the current collective bargaining agreement, is $35.30/hour ($73,424). Salary progresses to $52/hour ($108,160). OPOTC-certified candidates’ starting salary will be equivalent to their most recent salary as a full-time Police Officer. Salary ranges may change with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the city and FOP Lodge 160. Benefits include shift differential pay, paid vacations, holiday pay, weekend differential pay, personal allowance days, overtime and/or compensatory time, educational incentive bonus, longevity bonus, and an attendance bonus. Applicants must meet the following at the time of appointment: Be Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certified Be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment Lawfully eligible to work in the United States Possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent Must be able to work an 80-hour biweekly rotational schedule including weekends, evenings, nights and holidays on an assigned shift Must be available for on-call work Applicants Must Also

Take the National Testing Network written exam (if applicable) Obtain a passing score (minimum 70%) on the structured oral interview Successfully pass other screening tests prior to appointment (Chief’s interview, polygraph/background investigation, post-polygraph, psychological evaluation and medical examination) Application Process

The selection process has up to 10 progressive steps; status as Certified will determine which steps are required. Application packets are reviewed for eligibility, qualifications, accuracy, and thoroughness. A background screening will be conducted per BPD policies. Some disqualifiers may apply. Notes on testing and timelines: NTN testing is available with a minimum score of 65% to advance. The structured oral interview requires a minimum score of 70%. The process includes a background investigation, polygraph, Chief’s oral interview, and potential conditional offers of employment, with subsequent post-offer medical, psychological, and additional checks.
