Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Executive Sous Chef supports the hotel's mission to create exceptional guest and dining experiences by overseeing and managing the daily functions of the banquet culinary and stewarding departments. Working with the Director of Food & Beverage, this position will lead with an empathy‑forward mindset to motivate and inspire a high‑performing F&B team in achieving high culinary and performance standards. This position's direct report includes a Banquet Sous Chef. This position works variable hours based on hotel business and event needs, and a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Support senior leadership as an active participant and contributor to the Associate Leadership Committee (ALC) team

Liaison between Director of Food & Beverage and all departments within the culinary division, including stewarding, and all other hotel departments

Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards

Coach and develop a Banquet Sous Chefs on the preparation and cooking of various food items

Supervise a stewarding department and the management of all stewarding inventory and storage

Collaborate with leaders and other departments to manage and improve critical employee life cycle and administrative processes including scheduling, payroll, training, recruitment, learning & development

Lead, develop, and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results

Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis ensuring financial performance and control

Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen and stewarding facilities and equipment

Provides timely and helpful information and feedback across the team via various communication channels including but not limited to departmental meetings and huddles, regular check ins, on the spot coaching, etc.

Qualifications Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years' Banquet Kitchen management experience required, preferably in the hotel or comparable industry

Senior/Manager-level skills and knowledge of kitchen and stewarding operations

Food Service Sanitation certification required

Demonstrated success leading teams through growth, change, complexity while maintaining positive and respectful interpersonal relationships, listening and communication skills

Superior guest and customer service skills and able to model and instill that same vigor in their teams

Proven ability to work through and/or resolve conflict quickly, while sustaining collaborative and respectful working relationships with all stakeholders

Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner, while managing competing priorities using available resources and support

Comfort and proficiency with effective use of computers and software systems including but not limited to data entry, word processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office), and collaboration and virtual meeting tools (MS Teams, Slack)

Familiarity with employee compliance (FMLA, OSHA, FLSA), a plus

Ability to lift, push, pull 50 lbs., and work in a standing position for extended periods of time
