The Emergency Services Coordinator (ESC) supports Californias readiness for public health and medical emergencies by coordinating situational analysis, developing response strategies, and supporting statewide emergency operations. The ESC works under the direction of the Program Manager I of the Response Unit within the Center for Preparedness and Response. Responsibilities Supports CDPH and other entities in emergency response and recovery operations, ensuring consistency across multiple response plans and manuals. Conducts situational analysis of emergency response activities to identify operational gaps. Prepares and distributes situation reports and provides recommendations to emergency response coordinators. Collaborates with Senior Emergency Services Coordinators and others to develop response strategies and action plans. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials. Represents CDPH in emergency operations centers such as the State Operations Center and the Medical Hubs Coordination Center. Maintains working knowledge of incident command system (ICS), emergency services management system (SEMS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and CDPH emergency response frameworks. Delivers emergency management training to internal and external stakeholders. Participates in planning, drills, and exercises with state and regional ESF?8 partners. Prepares after?action reports and contributes to improvement planning. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local emergency response guidelines.
