We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Senior Tax Accountant . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, compliance, and planning for individuals and businesses. This role involves reviewing complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy, and providing strategic tax advice to support the company’s financial goals.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
Perform tax research and provide recommendations on complex tax issues.
Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize savings.
Maintain and reconcile tax general ledger accounts.
Support external audits and respond to tax notices or inquiries from regulatory authorities.
Stay current with changes in tax legislation and advise management accordingly.
Mentor and review work prepared by junior tax staff.
Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
4+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
