Scope Of Position We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and results‑driven Senior Project Manager to lead and manage medium to large, complex, broad programs or projects that can span globally across Corning or the corporation in support of business objectives. These projects will typically focus on enhancing manufacturing capacity, establishing manufacturing operations for new business ventures, reducing manufacturing costs, and improving facilities. The individual will lead a large team through the entire project lifecycle, applying fundamental project management practices such as the stage‑gate process to ensure successful delivery of project goals.
Day To Day Responsibilities
Organizational Alignment and Coordination: Coordinate workstreams across organizational boundaries in Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial in support of project deliverables.
Project Leadership: Direct supervision of a multi‑discipline, cross‑functional project team. Provide strong leadership to guide them, resolve conflicts, and make timely decisions to ensure the project’s compliance with safety, scope, schedule, cost, and other deliverables.
Project Management: Execute all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, leveraging the stage‑gate process and all its associated tools.
Scope Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
Budget and Schedule Management: Develop, monitor, and control project budgets and schedules to deliver outcomes within approved limits while maintaining quality standards.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth execution and minimize disruptions.
Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner with cross‑functional teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful delivery of project requirements.
Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization, keeping stakeholders informed of project progress, challenges, and milestones.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and apply best practices to optimize project execution and outcomes.
Travel Requirements
Must be available for significant domestic travel to multiple locations; international travel may be required.
Project assignments can exceed 1–2 years in duration.
Hours Of Work / Work Schedule / Flex‑time
Flexibility is required.
Normal business hours (8–5, M–F) with expectations to work additional hours to achieve objectives.
May include weekend and off‑shift hours.
Education And Experience
BS in Engineering required.
15 years of industry experience with 3–5 years of practicing project management.
Desired Skills
Preferred degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
Innovative and technically curious.
Experience working with the Scientific and Technology communities.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially in glass or ceramics.
Knowledge of PDRI, Stage Gate, and Last Planner.
Negotiation skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset.

The range for this position is $137,472.00 – $189,024.00 assuming full time status.
