About the Role We are seeking an investment analyst with expertise within the Financial Institutions Group to join our team. As a Sector Specialist within the Equity Relative Value (EqRV) strategy, you will generate trade ideas in the Financials (banking, brokers, insurance, credit cards, fin‑tech) sector for our fund. EqRV is a market‑neutral, pairs trading strategy that requires deep sector expertise. You will use your expertise in modeling and trading these stocks to curate the most profitable trades. The role involves thorough research, building financial models, analyzing market trends, financial statements, and economic data, and identifying potential pair trades. Your fundamental research will be enhanced by our proprietary pairs analysis process. You will be supported by a world‑class trading desk and report directly to the CIO, playing a critical role in investment decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
4+ years of experience modeling large‑cap Financial Institutions Group sector stocks (banks, brokerage, insurance) for a bulge‑bracket brokerage firm or a hedge fund
Experience in the Financials sector and expertise in economic policies and regulations affecting banks
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team
Full‑time in the office, Dallas, Texas
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
CFA or other relevant certifications
Experience with financial modeling and data analysis software
Strong track record of successful investment recommendations
Responsibilities
Generate trade ideas within the Financials sector for inclusion in our funds
Build financial models of all stocks in the sector, evaluate market trends and economic data to determine viability of potential investments
Collaborate with the CIO and other Sector Specialists to develop investment ideas around current trends and themes
Monitor and report on the performance of investments in the sector
Stay up to date with industry news and trends to inform investment decisions
Skills Must have a passion for investments and be able to demonstrate experience and expertise within the Financials (especially banking) sector. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are expected. Experience with financial modeling and data analysis software is necessary, as is a strong track record of successful investment recommendations.
Preference will be given to candidates who submit a cover letter detailing their sector expertise within the Financials sector.
