About the Role We’re looking for an experienced

Accounting Manager

to lead financial operations for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets, specifically retail complexes or plazas. This role covers property and development accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with property managers, development teams, and senior leadership to drive operational excellence.

What You’ll Do Property & Development Accounting Manage accounting processes for properties and development projects, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. Track and analyze project costs, capital expenditures, and operating expenses. Review financial statements and reconciliations for bank accounts, reserves, and fixed assets. Partner with teams on annual budgets and forecasts. Oversee NNN expense reconciliations and ensure timely tenant communication. Support audits and lender/partner reporting requirements. Handle fund-level accounting and review third-party reports for multifamily and fund projects.

Accounts Receivable Supervise rent collection, tenant billing, and cash receipt processing. Monitor aging reports and bad debt reserves. Drive improvements in receivables management and reporting.

Accounts Payable Oversee invoice processing, vendor setup, and payment cycles. Ensure accurate reconciliations and compliance with company policies.

Leadership & Compliance Lead and mentor accounting team members. Maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX, and tax regulations. Continuously improve accounting policies and systems. Act as liaison with auditors and executive leadership.

What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in commercial real estate.

Strong knowledge of property and development accounting, AR/AP processes.

Proficiency with accounting software (MRI, AvidXchange) and advanced Excel skills.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

Proven leadership and team development experience.
