Weekend Coverage:

Floating:
Required to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and med-surg units
PICU Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU nursing experience (preferably in a 30-bed or larger PICU; CVPICU experience strongly preferred)
Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be current at time of application)
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Proficient in arterial line management, chest tube care, intubation assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, central line care, pediatric dosage calculations, and post-cardiac surgery care
Willingness to float to NICU, PICU, Emergency Department (ED), stepdown, and med-surg units as needed
Two supervisory references required (one must be from a supervisor or manager)
Cannot have worked as a permanent employee at this facility within the last 2 years
No local candidates (must reside more than 60 miles from the facility)
PICU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the CVPICU
Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including congenital heart disease, heart failure, and post-transplant care
Utilize advanced clinical equipment and procedures: ventilators, ECMO (not responsible for running circuit), VADs, CRRT (not responsible for these patients), and more
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV team, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
Float to other critical care units as needed and adapt to diverse patient populations
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and infection control
