Lead Mechanical Assembler - Phoenix, Arizona Mercury Systems is seeking the best and brightest talent to help us bring cutting-edge technology to mission‑critical aerospace and defense applications, advancing innovation where it matters most.

Job Summary The Senior Mechanical Assembler will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronics and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Targeted start date would be beginning to mid‑January.

Job Responsibilities

Install, assemble and inspect electronic components per documented work instructions.

Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.

Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and initiatives on a daily basis.

Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.

Perform pass‑downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.

Disassemble and re‑assemble, modify, rework assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Must be able to travel to Chantilly, VA for up to 2 months for training.

Experience leading a team.

Minimum of 7 or more years of mechanical assembly experience.

Must have meticulous hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures.

Must be detail oriented and able to multitask.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs.

Experience with mechanical assembly.

IPC-610/620 and JSTD 001 certification.

High School Diploma or GED.

Targeted start date: beginning to mid‑January 2026.

Preferred Qualifications

Electronics assembly and inspection experience.

Knowledgeable of 5S/6S.

New Process Introduction experience.

Experience with set‑up and training a team from scratch.

Soldering under microscope.

College degree.

Physical Demands

Constantly move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 lbs.

Constant movement and use of limbs. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb and frequently grip. Working under a microscope for long periods of time may be required.

Must have near, far and color vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Requires good manual dexterity and coordination, and stamina. Overtime work may be required.

Job Details

$50,600.00 – $101,200.00 annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees.

$56,700.00 – $113,300.00 annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA.

$59,700.00 – $119,400.00 annual salary for in‑office or hybrid employees in NJ.
