Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven
Quality Manager
to lead quality assurance activities for a high-precision industrial manufacturing project. This role is responsible for developing and enforcing robust quality systems, managing audits and inspections, and ensuring adherence to stringent manufacturing standards. While familiarity with NQA-1 and nuclear regulatory requirements is advantageous for future phases, the immediate priority is expertise in
precision manufacturing or close-tolerance metal machining environments . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control for complex, high-accuracy components and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in pursuit of quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement quality management systems tailored to precision manufacturing and machining operations. Oversee quality control processes, inspection protocols, and documentation practices for close-tolerance components. Lead internal and external audits and customer assessments; support compliance with NQA-1 and DOE/NRC requirements as needed for later project stages. Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions. Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure product and process quality. Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on precision and reliability. Ensure traceability and documentation of critical materials and components. Train and mentor quality personnel and production staff on precision quality standards and procedures. Support supplier qualification and performance monitoring for high-precision parts. Prepare and present quality reports to senior leadership and stakeholders. Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in quality assurance within precision manufacturing or close-tolerance metal machining environments. 5+ years of quality management experience. Strong understanding of advanced inspection techniques, metrology, and machining tolerances. Strong knowledge of
ISO 9001 and ANSI/ASME standards . Proficiency in
precision measurement tools , inspection techniques, and quality management systems (QMS). Proven leadership and team management skills in a high-accuracy manufacturing environment. Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification. Familiarity with NQA-1, ASME Section III, DOE, and NRC regulatory frameworks (helpful for future compliance). Experience with
tight-tolerance machining, CNC processes, and metallurgical testing . Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control. Other Job Requirements:
United States Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
