RESEARCH DATA ANALYST, School of Public Health, Epidemiology Position Type: Full-Time/Regular

Job Description The primary responsibilities of the Research Data Analyst will be to apply advanced analytic methods to data from a large, prospective cohort study: Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO). The Analyst will conduct data analysis and assist team members with their analyses and manuscripts.

Duties include data management, procedures documentation, quality control, statistical programming using SAS (also R, Excel, Access), preparation of datasets for external investigators, birth registry linkage, presentation of data in tabular or graphical form, assisting with presentations for scientific conferences, producing data tables and figures for journal manuscripts, and generation of preliminary data for grant proposals. The role is in‑person/on‑premises with occasional remote work.

Required Skills

Masters degree in public health, epidemiology, or biostatistics required. Substitution: at least 3 years full‑time experience as a data analyst on an epidemiologic study in lieu of a master’s degree, requiring a bachelor’s degree.

Solid background in epidemiology.

Proficiency in SAS, Access, Excel and data management.

Analytic experience and statistical knowledge for descriptive statistics, stratification, and multivariable regression (linear, log‑binomial, Cox) using SAS.

Experience with multiple imputations, spline regression, inverse probability weighting, and measurement error correction.

Extensive knowledge of study design, questionnaire design and development, and methodological issues related to bias and confounding.

Experience writing and publishing scientific manuscripts as co‑author.

Desire to work independently to deliver work of the highest quality.
