We’re looking for a detail-oriented Import/Export Agent to manage day-to-day international shipments, with a strong command of U.S. import procedures, bonded cargo handling, and export documentation. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), highly organized, and comfortable working with CBP forms and trade systems.

Key Responsibilities

Execute end-to-end import procedures (ISF, arrival notices, entry filing coordination, releases, exams, delivery).

Prepare, review, and coordinate CBP Form 7501 (Entry Summary) with brokers; verify classifications, duties, OGA requirements.

Prepare and track CBP Form 7512 (Transportation in Bond) with accurate routing, port codes, and timelines including updates, arriving/closing in-bonds.

Support FTZ/warehouse operations as applicable (inventory control, admissions, transfers, reconciliations).

Exports

Prepare Export Documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipper’s letter of instruction, AES/EEI filings.

Create/validate IMO/Dangerous Goods (DG) declarations (e.g., IMDG, IATA forms) and ensure packaging/marking/labels meet modal rules.

Coordinate bookings with carriers/forwarders; ensure cutoffs, VGM, and compliance with sanctions/embargo screening.

Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Maintain accurate records of shipping & receiving activities, including documentation for customs clearance.

Communication & Coordination

Serve as primary contact for customers, carriers, customs brokers, and warehouse teams.

Provide shipment status updates, exception management, and clear, timely escalation.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of hands‑on import/export operations in freight forwarding, 3PL, broker, or shipper environment.

Proven knowledge of U.S. import procedures, bonded cargo handling, and 7512 in‑bond moves.

Experience in preparing export documentation and filing EEI/AES.

Bilingual: English and Spanish (read/write/speak).

Familiarity with CBP forms (e.g., 214, 7501, 7512) and basic trade compliance concepts (HTS classification, Incoterms, valuation).

Demonstrated experience creating IMO/DG forms (IMDG/IATA) and applying DG packing/labeling requirements.

Strong organization and time management; able to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments and with external partners.

Proficient with Excel/Microsoft Teams and email communication; strong attention to detail.

Magaya and/or Descartes systems experience.

FTZ operations exposure (admissions, status changes, inventory control).

Familiarity with PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA).
