Summary Description Under the direction of the Director of Annual Giving, the Leadership Annual Giving Officer (LAG Officer) will implement high‑volume, personalized outreach to accelerate the discovery, cultivation and solicitation of annual giving prospects at the $500+ level, promote unrestricted annual support, and qualify prospects who can become $5,000+ donors to reassign to the leadership gifts team. This is a fast‑paced, outcomes‑driven role that utilizes donor‑centric technology to map outreach strategies. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results‑oriented individual who is passionate about building strong relationships by utilizing a multi‑channel strategy to engage supporters across digital and traditional platforms.

Description Of Duties And Responsibilities Leadership and Digital Annual Giving – 90%

Manage a prioritized, fluid portfolio of approximately 1,000 prospects comprised of donors at the $500+ level (mid‑level donors). Focus will be on renewing existing donors, upgrading loyal donors to the President’s Council ($1,000+), identifying prospects for the leadership giving pipeline and prioritizing unrestricted giving.

Leveraging donor‑centric technology, develop and implement strategies to acquire new donors to increase the giving participation rate of alumni, university family, friends and students through the qualification and discovery process.

Utilize a multi‑channel outreach approach (including cold calls, email, text, video, virtual meetings, social media and direct mail) to create personalized, high‑touch experiences for each donor and prospect, ensuring frequent and meaningful interactions across a variety of platforms to build their Saint Peter’s affinity.

Write, create and edit compelling messaging and content to inspire engagement and enhance unrestricted philanthropic support.

Maintain accurate records in CRM of donor interactions, opportunities, plans and outcomes.

Meet and exceed clearly defined metrics, fundraising outcomes and pipeline growth targets.

Steward current donors to ensure continued support and increased giving.

Analyze giving trends and track detailed progress towards fundraising goals. Work to identify opportunities for donor acquisition, engagement and retention based on data‑driven insights. Prepare reports assessing results of LAG Officer outreach, leveraging data‑driven insights to determine outreach effectiveness and inform strategies for achieving fundraising goals.

Annual Giving/Advancement Program Support – 10%

Provide strategic support for crowdfunding and giving days with a strong focus on increasing awareness and participation among key donor segments. This includes targeted promotion to a broad portfolio of 1,000+ donors and prospects and creation of tailored communications to drive engagement and support.

Learn and continuously enhance knowledge and understanding of the mission, priorities and history of Saint Peter’s and the characteristics of the university’s alumni and donor base.

Participate in alumni cultivation events/programs and work collaboratively with other members of the Advancement team.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Annual Giving, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving or Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Strategic Engagement.

Salary Range $70,000 – $85,000

Qualification Standards

Knowledge of qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and the ability to be persuasive.

Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills across all mediums.

Ability to work independently and utilize creative strategies to achieve goals.

Strong administrative, organizational and time‑management skills with a high attention to detail.

Outcome‑oriented work style with the ability to implement strategies to achieve fundraising goals, analyze results and adjust strategies based on those results.

Technologically savvy with high proficiency in digital communication tools such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Zoom (or other video‑conferencing equivalents) and text messaging.

Knowledge of Raiser's Edge NXT database, Almabase or similar fundraising software and Canva (or other design software) a plus.

Ability to maintain and handle highly confidential information with discretion.

Unparalleled personal integrity.

Ability to inspire a passion and effectively communicate a case for support for Saint Peter’s and its Jesuit mission.

Education: A bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience

2+ years of experience in fundraising or a relevant field (e.g., sales) with demonstrated experience achieving and exceeding goals.

Marketing, annual giving and/or higher education background is a plus.

Personal solicitation or experience and exposure to frontline fundraising experience in education or non‑profit work preferred.

Licenses (if Necessary)

A personal vehicle is required.

Work Schedule

Full‑time; 52 weeks per year. In addition to regular business hours, the person in this position must be able to be flexible around the needs of the university, which includes occasional evening and/or weekend hours and travel.

Other Considerations The successful candidate must demonstrate skills and expertise in planning, decision making and implementation of fundraising strategies, communication (oral and written), computer literacy, human relations, persistence and patience. A high degree of initiative is expected along with strong organizational skills and the ability to identify and construct solutions. Also, the candidate should possess a commitment to the ideals of a Jesuit education and exhibit personal integrity and respect for confidentiality, prudence and discretion.
