Responsibilities
Teach established Regulatory Affairs courses covering fundamentals of US and EU medical device and combination product regulations.
Teach Medical Device Design courses and FDA Design Control processes, including associated laboratory teaching activities at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Administer undergraduate and graduate certificates in Regulatory Affairs.
Develop a Minor degree in Regulatory Affairs/Regulatory Science within Biomedical Engineering.
Support the department’s efforts to produce a Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs.
Develop a new inter‑departmental program in Regulatory Science in collaboration with other colleges and departments.
Participate in team teaching, student mentoring, and other faculty and service‑related duties at departmental, college, and university levels as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Post‑baccalaureate degree (e.g., M.S.) and experience or professional certifications in Regulatory Affairs and Medical Device Design Control.
3–4 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs or Medical Device design prior to hire.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
Desire and capability to cross disciplinary boundaries in teaching healthcare technology.
Desired Qualifications
Earned doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., D.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Experience and interest in medical device design and translation, with comprehensive understanding of regulatory issues in devices and drugs.
Higher education teaching or regulatory and medical device design training experience.
