UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. Position Summary The Finance Analyst Manager serves in the Physician Enterprise Finance Office and partners with multiple departments of varying size and complexity. The incumbent is responsible for delivering finance and operations support that enables departmental business partners, UCI Health, and SOM leadership to make timely decisions and achieve desired financial and clinical operational results. The role provides analytic support and leadership to aid in the financial and strategic management of the Physician Enterprise and supports both the Director of Clinical Operations and the VP of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Review, research, analyze, and develop strategies for billing data, physician practice performance, and productivity.
Use professional fee‑billing benchmarks, clinical practice, and faculty productivity measures to establish forecasting and reporting methods that monitor performance against benchmarks.
Partner with campus, medical center and school of medicine departments and other sources to address analytical needs and develop innovative recommendations and strategic solutions for the Dean’s office.
Contribute to major SOM and medical center objectives, directly impacting SOM departmental goals and supporting clinical integration.
Required Qualifications
Strong organizational skills to prioritize and complete assignments amid heavy and diversified workloads and frequent interruptions.
Experience using Excel for data input, organization, analysis, and the creation of accurate tables, charts, graphs and reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional relationships.
Demonstrated success in applying critical thinking skills.
Independent analytical skills: interpreting data, defining problems and objectives, identifying relevant factors, and formulating logical conclusions.
Team collaboration experience, with a willingness to assist and respond to requests.
Experience in financial analysis.
Effective communication with faculty, administrators, staff, students, and vendors.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Positive attitude and teamwork to achieve school goals.
Proficient reading, writing and speaking English.
Minimum 7 years of related experience with a BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting theory and university fund accounting.
Experience with University of California or UCI policies and procedures.
Experience with UC/UC Irvine enterprise systems (Kuali Financial System, Cognos Decision Support, Campus Billing System Online).
Experience processing financial journals, recharge transactions, and budget transfers.
