We are looking for a skilled attorney to join our firm and play a critical role in assisting in managing our liens department, ensuring that our clients receive the maximum compensation they deserve. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the attorney will be responsible for providing legal support to our Liens Department as they seek to negotiate liens arising from personal injury cases. This role requires experience with personal injury liens, negotiation skills, legal research, and attention to detail to protect the firm’s clients and maximize their recovery. Providing legal support for our Liens Department, which negotiates personal injury liens including healthcare liens (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, hospital liens, private insurance, and medical providers) as well as attorneys’ liens. Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of lien‑related issues in active cases and collaborating with the Chief Compliance Officer to support timely resolution of liens and distribution of undisputed funds. Negotiating with attorneys representing lienholders to resolve outstanding liens and maximize client recovery. Staying informed of lien laws, regulations, and procedures. Assisting the Liens Department in answering client questions on the status of their liens and explaining how lien resolutions impact their settlements. Drafting correspondence and legal research memoranda related to lien matters and maintaining organized records of lien negotiations and settlements. Working closely with litigation, settlement, accounting, and liens teams to support case resolution strategies. Qualifications
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing with the [State] Bar. 2+ years of experience in personal injury or healthcare lien resolution. Working knowledge of personal injury liens. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. High level of organization and attention to detail. Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software. Experience working in a plaintiff’s law firm is preferred. Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes is preferred. $135,000 – $180,000 depending on experience Benefits
