Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure the facility's compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, standards, and permits, including those issued by OSHA, EPA, and the TCEQ. Program Management:

Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's EHS programs and procedures, including specific manufacturing-related protocols like Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and confined space entry. Risk Assessment:

Conduct regular risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with manufacturing processes. Incident Investigation:

Lead thorough incident, accident, and near-miss investigations to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions. Training and Education:

Develop and deliver mandatory EHS training for all employees, covering topics such as hazardous materials handling, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Environmental Stewardship (TCEQ Focus):

Manage compliance with TCEQ requirements for air emissions, including maintaining Permits by Rule (PBRs) or other applicable permits. Oversee hazardous and industrial waste management programs, including proper waste characterization, manifesting, and reporting to the TCEQ. Ensure compliance with stormwater management plans, particularly for manufacturing sites.

Emergency Preparedness:

Develop, update, and coordinate the facility's emergency response plans, conducting regular drills and ensuring proper equipment readiness. Inspections and Audits:

Act as the primary contact for regulatory inspections by OSHA and TCEQ. Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits. Communication:

Present EHS performance metrics to leadership, communicate safety and environmental matters to employees, and collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams. Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related engineering field preferred. Experience:

A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of industrial operations. Texas-Specific Knowledge:

Proven expertise in navigating and ensuring compliance with federal OSHA standards and Texas-specific environmental regulations, including TCEQ rules. Certifications:

Professional EHS certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are highly preferred. Skills:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Proficiency with EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S) is a plus.

Work Environment

The role involves a combination of office work and frequent presence on the manufacturing floor, which may require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Requires the ability to work in and inspect various manufacturing conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Benefits
