Travel Nursing Job Details Location: Rochester, NY 14626 – Western New York healthcare jobs Unit: Pulmonary/Med-Surg Telemetry Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026) Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00) Hours per Week: 36 Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020-$2080 Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics Scrubs: Navy blue/white Orientation: 4 hours classroom, remainder of shift on unit First-time travel nurses accepted Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Call: As needed Float: Required (within scope) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New York RN license (must be in hand at submission) At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience BLS certification (American Heart Association) EPIC EMR charting experience Preferred: PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown nursing experience Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, ventilator care, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac Experience managing diagnoses such as acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, sepsis, pulmonary fibrosis, ILD Willingness to float to similar units as needed No local candidates (must reside 75 miles from facility) Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac drips (no titration) Administer IV insulin and titrate insulin drips Deliver feeding tube care and continuous bladder irrigation Manage pre/post hemodialysis and blood product administration Care for ventilated patients, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and advanced respiratory support equipment Initiate and maintain IVs, central and peripheral lines, and PICC lines Implement isolation precautions and wound care protocols Activate rapid response teams as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services) Float to similar units within scope of practice Document patient care using EPIC EMR system Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career in Rochester, NY!
