Position Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist supports the HR function by managing day-to-day HR activities across multiple divisions. This position serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, handling a broad range of HR responsibilities including onboarding, benefits, compliance, HRIS data management, and employee relations support. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Essential Functions:
Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, providing timely and professional assistance.
Manage the employee lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes.
Assist in screening resumes for potential new hires, conducting phone screening, and supporting new employees through the onboarding process.
Maintain and audit employee data within the HRIS to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Administer benefit programs and assist employees with enrollment, changes, and general questions.
Support compliance efforts including FMLA, EEO-1, I-9 verification, and multi-state labor law requirements.
Assist with employee relations documentation, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
Prepare and maintain reports related to headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics.
Support company-wide HR projects, engagement initiatives, and policy rollouts.
Contribute to HR projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of experience in Human Resources.
Strong knowledge of HR laws and best practices, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and state labor regulations.
Experience using HRIS systems (ADP a plus).
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Experience working in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification preferred.
