Position Description The Department of Surgery at UCSF seeks an outstanding full-time academic surgeon with an exemplary patient‑care record and expertise in Vascular Surgery. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible and have completed or will complete an accredited Vascular Surgery fellowship or integrated residency. The role will be based at Oakland’s Highland Hospital, part of the Alameda Health System with a catchment population of over 2 million.
Responsibilities
Support expansion of the vascular and endovascular surgery practice at UCSF‑East Bay.
Perform a broad range of open and endovascular procedures at Highland Hospital and community affiliates, including vascular trauma at a level‑1 trauma center, complex venous disease, spine exposure, and oncologic reconstruction.
Engage in clinical research, education, and quality‑improvement programs.
Educate surgery residents and medical students, and be an active participant in the department’s residency training and educational programs.
Qualifications
Board certified or board eligible in Vascular Surgery.
Completed or will complete an accredited Vascular Surgery fellowship or integrated residency by the time of hire.
Recognized skills in teaching residents and medical students.
Strong interest or record in clinical research, education, and quality‑improvement.
Salary The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. Minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700 – $405,900. This includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan with eligibility for additional compensation.
