Founded in 1984, Brock Built has been a premier Atlanta home builder dedicated to enriching lives by helping buyers achieve their home ownership dreams. We are expanding into Alabama and Florida markets and are now seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our winning team.

Position Summary This role oversees all month‑end close processes, land development lending, and supports the Accounting Team with reporting, AP, and Treasury responsibilities.

Job Functions

Month‑End Close Process

Work with Staff Accountant to complete monthly journal entries for combined entities

Review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations

Prepare profitability and overhead reporting

Assist accounting manager with lender reporting and compliance requirements

Complete monthly close for non‑combined entities

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations

Analyze variances and research questions from accounting manager and CFO

Cash Management / Treasury

Manage daily cash balances and transfer between accounts

Set up ACH/wires as needed

Ensure proper funding for monthly payments

Land Development Draws

Analyze job detail and prepare monthly draws for equity partners and lenders

Communicate with lenders and other parties on draw status

Confirm draw funding and process related payments

HOA

Process wires for HOA cash funding

Annual Financial Audit

Prepare PBCs for auditors

Assist auditors with questions or follow‑up

IT / Systems

Set up new projects and entities

Set up new GL accounts and maintain GL interface

Bank/EFT/EFTM setup

Other duties

Prepare and file personal property tax returns

Prepare and file business license renewals

Work with staff accountant and senior AP specialist to complete 1099 tax reporting

Cross‑train with team members for backup coverage

Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field

Certified Public Accountant designation preferred

Minimum 5 years progressive experience in finance or accounting, ideally in home‑building or real estate

Strong understanding of financial controls and application of functional accounting practices

Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail

Self‑motivated with ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a timely manner

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present financial information to non‑financial stakeholders

Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Highly adaptable to fast‑paced work environment and can operate with urgency

Ability to work effectively under high‑pressure situations, embrace changing priorities, procedures, and responsibilities

Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills and enjoyment of team collaboration

Must successfully pass pre‑employment drug screen
