We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, managing payroll staff, and maintaining accurate and timely payroll records. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of payroll systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the company’s payroll operations for all employees
Supervise and train payroll staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Review and approve payroll runs, tax filings, and system updates
Maintain and update payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Oversee benefit and deduction processing (health insurance, 401(k), garnishments, etc.)
Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate employee data and financial reporting
Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for the accounting team
Manage payroll reporting and audits, including year‑end forms (W‑2s, 1099s)
Identify process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, QuickBooks, or similar)
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
High attention to detail and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee data
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential preferred but not required
