The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications. Those with 8 years or more of required experience can expect offers up to the midpoint of the salary range. Metra provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential.
Overview Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, serving Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. The agency is linking communities in Northeastern Illinois by providing safe, reliable, and efficient commuter service.
Information Technology is divided into four sections: Enterprise Applications, Railroad Applications, Network Services, and Systems Development.
Reporting Structure Positions will work on either the New Technology Development or the Enterprise Application Team, reporting to either the Senior Manager, New Technology Development, or the Manager, Application Development.
Responsibilities
New Technology Development Team:
Design, code, and test new or revised computer programs. Assist in analyzing user operations, evaluating solutions, and recommending improved use of existing or new technologies. Prepare or assist with program preparation to resolve business problems. Review, analyze, and change programs to reflect changes in business requirements or hardware/operating system configurations. Prepare flowcharts, menus, record and database specifications, and user manuals and training materials. Develop queries to generate user reports.
Enterprise Application Team:
Provide technical support for Microsoft D365—including maintaining logic, functionality, workflow, security, and reports; developing new logic; and general technical support as needed. Develop and maintain applications using Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Logic Apps) and Microsoft SharePoint Online. Develop queries for ad‑hoc and special reports. Assist users in system operation, problem determination, and documentation. Assist with deployment and updates of Microsoft releases for D365.
