Full Stack Engineer (Core Scribd)
Join Scribd, Inc. to build and maintain the frontend and backend systems powering Scribd’s document reading page. This full‑stack role spans React/Next.js front‑end features, Ruby on Rails back‑end services, data ingestion pipelines, and AI/ML collaboration.

Team & Role Overview The Core Scribd team builds full‑stack features for a research journey that helps users find and parse the right document. You’ll work across React UIs, distributed back‑end services, product, design, AI/ML, and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Design and PM on new frontend features using React/Next.js, GraphQL, Typescript, and Ruby on Rails.
Contribute to a shared design system and improve frontend infrastructure.
Maintain and improve our backend in‑document search service and spin up new services as needed in Python.
Collaborate with Data/ML and Content Pipeline teams to build new features and enhance the document ingestion infrastructure.
Requirements (Required)
Strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React.
3–5 years of experience working across the stack, especially React, Nextjs & Ruby on Rails.
Experience with database technologies (SQL, Postgres and MySQL).
Understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with performance, accessibility, and SEO principles across the stack.
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with design, product, and other engineering teams.
A thoughtful approach to code quality, maintainability, and documentation.
Bonus Points (Optional)
Experience with Node and Go services.
Compensation & Equity San Francisco: $119,000 – $185,500 (US). Outside California: $98,000 – $176,500 (US). Canada: $124,500 – $165,000 CAD. Competitive equity and comprehensive benefits.
