About the Team and Role As a Full Stack Engineer on the Core Scribd team, you will work on full‑stack features that help users research and parse documents. You’ll collaborate with product, design, AI/ML, and infrastructure teams across a React–based UI, distributed backend services, and data pipelines.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Design and PM on new frontend features using React/Next.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, and Ruby on Rails.
Contribute to a shared design system.
Improve frontend infrastructure.
Maintain and enhance the backend in‑document search service and spin up new services in Python.
Collaborate with Data/ML and Content Pipeline teams to build and improve document ingestion infrastructure.
Requirements (Required)
Strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React.
3‑5 years of experience across the stack, particularly React, Next.js, and Ruby on Rails.
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with performance, accessibility, and SEO principles across the stack.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work closely with design, product, and engineering teams.
A thoughtful approach to code quality, maintainability, and documentation.
Bonus Points (Optional)
Experience with Node and Go services.
Location & Eligibility Hiring is available for employees with a primary residence in or near the following U.S. cities: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Houston, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C.; Canada: Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver; Mexico: Mexico City. We require occasional in‑person attendance for all employees.
Compensation US Pacific Coast salary range: $119,000–$185,500 (San Francisco). Outside California: $98,000–$176,500. Canadian: $124,500 CAD–$165,000 CAD. The role also offers competitive equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
