Summary The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for running the job site, completing projects on time and within budget. This process‑driven leader keeps the project on schedule and runs various job sites, ensuring budget adherence and safety.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities

Work directly with Regional Manager and project managers to help implement project goals.

Assign duties to staff to implement project goals, as needed.

Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution.

Overview project goals and ensure they are achievable.

Review project implementation and gather data on project execution.

Coordinate with Construction Managers, project managers and other project leads following project execution.

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure construction teams have the materials they need.

Communicate about delays and any other issues that must be communicated to clients.

Complete any tasks assigned by the Regional Manager efficiently and timely.

Identify safety concerns and preventive measures.

Outline completed portions of the past week that meet or exceed the project schedule.

Create and maintain project task schedule and 3-week look‑ahead.

Attend weekly project meetings.

Discuss change events.

Discuss staff and subcontractor performance.

Quality control – inspections, documentation, and electronic submittal.

Safety – inspections, documentation, and electronic submittal.

Crew oversight and management.

Maintain crew production schedule; lead Safety Toolbox talks, comply with Job Hazard Analysis and Site Specific Safety Plan.

Identify punch list and observations from previous week.

Prepare all closeout documents and QA/QC checklists.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the company’s attendance policy.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of commercial or utility‑scale solar PV mechanical foreman experience.

2+ years of commercial or utility‑scale solar PV mechanical superintendent or construction management experience.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience supporting the construction of major projects, preferably power stations or supply networks.

Experience with multiple racking manufacturers, subcontractors, and pile driver manufacturers.

Willingness to travel and relocate from project to project.

Experience with MS Project or comparable project‑management tools.

Experience with ProCore preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience reviewing mechanical installation and design technical packages, understanding top‑of‑pile designs.

Assertive, able to cope with pressure, and maintain a team‑player attitude.

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.

Attention to detail and ability to work in a time‑conscious manner.

May need to interact with Owner’s Field Representative and outside testing agencies.

Experience operating construction equipment, pile drivers, and GPS surveying equipment.

Knowledge of installation methods for mechanical systems in the industry.

Preventative maintenance – grease, fuel, warranty.

QA/QC inspection.

Updating drawings for as‑built.

Supervise pile pull testing and refusal logs.

Physical Demands

Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.

Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and confined spaces.

Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs of tools and/or materials; assistance may be required for items over 50 lbs.

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.

Must work extended hours on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel) with full range of motion and flexibility.

Requires repetitive movement.

Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop.

Predominantly outdoor climate.

Various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment.

Potential exposure to chemical substances.

Work performed around hazardous equipment.
