Summary The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for running the job site, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This leader manages multiple sites, coordinates with project teams, oversees scheduling, quality control, safety, crew management, and reporting. The role reports to the Field Operations Manager and may travel frequently to project locations.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities

Work directly with Regional Manager and project managers to implement project goals.

Assign duties to staff to support project objectives.

Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely execution.

Review project implementation and gather data on execution.

Coordinate with Construction Managers, project managers, and other team leads.

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for necessary materials.

Communicate delays and other issues to clients.

Complete tasks assigned by the Regional Manager efficiently and timely.

Identify safety concerns and preventative measures.

Outline completed portions of the past week that meet or exceed project schedule.

Create and maintain project task schedule and 3‑week look‑ahead.

Attend weekly project meetings.

Discuss change events.

Review staff and subcontractor performance.

Perform quality control inspections, documentation, and electronic submittals.

Perform safety inspections, documentation, and electronic submittals.

Oversee crew and manage personnel.

Maintain crew production schedule; lead safety toolbox talks; comply with Job Hazard Analysis and Site‑Specific Safety Plan.

Identify punch list items and observations from the previous week.

Prepare all closeout documents and QA/QC checklists.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of commercial or utility‑scale solar PV mechanical foreman experience.

2+ years of commercial or utility‑scale solar PV mechanical superintendent or construction management experience.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience supporting construction of major projects (e.g., power stations, supply networks).

Experience with multiple racking manufacturers, subcontractors, and pile driver manufacturers.

Willingness to travel and relocate from project to project.

Experience with MS Project or comparable project management tools (preferred).

Experience with ProCore (preferred).

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Fluent in written and spoken English; excellent communication skills.

Experience reviewing mechanical installation manuals and design technical packages.

Assertive, pressure‑tolerant, and team‑player attitude.

Knowledge of local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.

Detail‑oriented and time‑conscious.

Ability to interact with owners’ field representatives and testing agencies.

Experience operating construction equipment, pile drivers, and GPS surveying equipment.

Knowledge of installation methods for various mechanical systems.

Experience in preventative maintenance, grease, fuel, and warranty programs.

QA/QC inspection experience.

Updating drawings for as‑built conditions.

Supervise pile pull testing and refusal logs.

Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.

Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations).

Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials.

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Must work extended hours on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).

Requires repetitive motion.
