Principal Network Engineer IS, Voice and Unified Communications (UC) *Virtual*
Providence Health & Services is seeking a Principal Network Engineer specializing in Voice and Unified Communications (UC) to design, operate, and enhance large‑scale communication services for IS, non‑IS, and clinical caregivers. The role demands deep technical expertise in deploying and managing advanced voice/UC systems, integrating legacy systems, driving innovation, and providing top‑tier support in complex environments. Some travel may be required for support of initiatives and implementations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent education and work experience.
8 or more years of related experience.
Strong experience in automation (deployment, recovery, or manual processes).
Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Perl, Ansible, VB Script, Python, SQL).
Experience with n‑tier solutions.
Knowledge of resilience modeling and outage simulation.
Ability to translate customer and technical requirements into service architecture that meets Quality of Service expectations.
Leadership in backlog discussions and stand‑ups for live site requirements.
Data‑driven decision making.
Logical reasoning and root cause analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years hands‑on with Avaya Enterprise Unified Communications in multi‑data‑center environment.
4+ years with Cisco in multi‑data‑center environment.
Proficiency in Cisco UCS technologies (Call Manager, CUBE, Unity, WebEx Calling, Voice Gateways).
Expertise in Avaya hardware (Communication Manager, Aura Messaging, Session Manager).
Experience with Oracle SBC and VoIP networking (SIP, carrier solutions).
Monitoring and telemetry tools (SNMP, Syslog, Wireshark).
CS Certifications (CCNP Collaboration preferred).
Large‑scale migration from legacy PBX to Cisco Cloud UCM and SIP.
FAX over SIP/H.323 support.
CDR systems and SIP log aggregator knowledge.
Voice testing, load and call‑quality tools.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, presentation, consensus‑building skills.
In‑depth knowledge of IT concepts and industry practices.
Salary Range by Location
AK: Anchorage – $68.33 to $116.36 per hour
AK: Kodiak, Seward, Valdez – $71.23 to $121.29 per hour
California: Humboldt – $71.23 to $121.29 per hour
California: Northern (excl. Humboldt) – $79.92 to $136.08 per hour
California: Southern – $71.23 to $121.29 per hour
Montana (excl. Great Falls) – $55.01 to $93.68 per hour
Montana: Great Falls – $52.12 to $88.75 per hour
Oregon: Non‑Portland – $63.70 to $108.47 per hour
Oregon: Portland – $68.33 to $116.36 per hour
Texas (Lubbock, Levelland, Plainview) – $52.12 to $88.75 per hour
Washington – $71.23 to $121.29 per hour across multiple regions.
