A leading residential developer and general contractor in Dallas is seeking an
Assistant Project Manager
with 2+ years of ground-up or interior construction experience. This role involves managing all phases of construction, including design coordination, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and closeout. The APM will work closely with the design team, subcontractors, and ownership to ensure timely, code‑compliant project delivery. A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is required, and Texas residential construction experience is preferred. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of building codes, estimating, and construction processes are essential.
Responsibilities Ensure completeness, design intent, and compliance with local codes and regulations.
Obtain required clarifications from design and engineering teams.
Manage all aspects of construction projects, including:
Preliminary design
Development
Contracts and procurement
Daily construction monitoring and management
Budgeting and financial tracking
Punch list and final Certificate of Occupancy process
Prepare budgets and report capital expenditures to management.
Oversee construction schedules, budgets, and project timelines.
Manage and maintain subcontractor and owner relationships.
Ensure all permits and licenses are acquired and up to date.
Conduct post‑project evaluations and implement lessons learned.
Qualifications 2+ years of interior or ground‑up residential construction experience.
BA in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master's a plus).
Texas residential construction experience preferred.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and safety practices.
Ability to lead project teams effectively.
