Position Summary As Director of Product Management for Last Mile Delivery, you will define, build, and scale the products and platforms that power Walmart’s last‑mile logistics network. You’ll own the customer and driver experiences that enable fast, reliable, and cost‑effective delivery—whether from stores, fulfillment centers, or third‑party partners. You will lead a team of product managers and collaborate closely with engineering, design, operations, and supply chain to deliver solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and improve operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact how millions of Walmart customers receive their orders, shaping a critical part of our omnichannel promise.
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy
Define the product vision and roadmap for last‑mile delivery platforms, aligning with Walmart’s omnichannel strategy.
Balance customer expectations for speed and convenience with operational and cost efficiency.
Partner with senior leaders in Supply Chain, Technology, and Operations to shape the future of Walmart’s delivery ecosystem.
Customer & Driver Experience
Build and scale intuitive, seamless experiences for both customers and drivers (delivery partners, associates, gig workers).
Develop tools that provide real‑time visibility, accurate ETAs, and reliable communication.
Optimize routing, batching, and delivery orchestration to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
Execution & Delivery
Lead cross‑functional product teams to deliver innovative solutions in delivery management, driver platforms, and last‑mile logistics.
Translate business needs into clear product requirements and prioritize features that maximize customer and business impact.
Establish success metrics (on‑time delivery, NPS, cost per delivery, driver retention/engagement) and drive continuous improvement.
Technology & Innovation
Leverage AI/ML, optimization algorithms, and geospatial technology to enable smarter delivery decision‑making.
Partner with engineering to develop flexible, scalable platforms that can support growth across delivery channels.
Explore emerging technologies (autonomous delivery, drones, EV fleets) and integrate relevant innovations into Walmart’s roadmap.
Leadership & Collaboration
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Collaborate with UX, engineering, operations, and data science partners to deliver cohesive solutions.
Influence executive stakeholders with clear storytelling, data‑driven insights, and a focus on outcomes.
Qualifications
10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience delivering large‑scale logistics, eCommerce, or transportation products.
Strong technical acumen with experience in APIs, optimization, geospatial/routing, or logistics platforms.
Deep understanding of last‑mile delivery dynamics, gig‑economy platforms, and omnichannel fulfillment.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Qualifications Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 11 years’ experience in product management. Option 2: 13 years’ experience in product management or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 10 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer‑facing, large‑scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
Supervisory experience.
Knowledge and experience in creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and commitment to inclusive culture.
