X‑Ray Technologist – Health and Wellness Center
Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an X‑Ray Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations and support patient safety and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, and operating equipment.
Gather relevant clinical information from medical records and provider communications to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
Restrict radiation exposure using appropriate collimation per ALARA principles.
Perform portable x‑ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms and emergency rooms.
Identify and mark patient images with name and MRN#.
Process and reconstruct all images using available methods.
Maintain orderly x‑ray room, ordering supplies as directed by the department.
Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers with administration as needed.
Perform administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instruction, record keeping, and reception as required.
Assist patient positioning and mobility as needed.
Adhere to scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, overtime and on‑call assignments as per policy.
Follow policies on Employee ID, standards of behavior, attendance, punctuality, A.I.D.E.T. greeting and standards identified in the Medical Center's organizational competencies.
Perform daily clerical duties using EPIC, PACS, Teletracking and other computer systems.
Modify care to meet patient population needs, communicating at appropriate levels.
Perform daily and monthly quality assurance.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
Completion of an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Licenses and Certifications Required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R.).
AHA Basic Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering position.
