Description
This on-site, contract position is located in Palos Heights and offers a unique opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in the cardiothoracic surgery field.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of skilled healthcare professionals to provide high-quality medical care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and supporting the surgical team in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
Assist in the management and treatment of patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures
Perform comprehensive assessments and develop patient care plans
Conduct pre-operative and post-operative evaluations
Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals
Provide patient education and counseling regarding treatment options
Monitor patients' progress and adjust care plans as necessary
Document patient interactions and care in accordance with regulations
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant license
Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related field preferred
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7 on/7 off
No call requirement
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Patient Census: Up to 10-15 per day
Will serve as first assist for CABG, ECMO, and EVH procedures
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
