Description
In this role, you will provide essential support in surgical settings, working closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. Your expertise will play a vital role in pre‑operative assessments, intra‑operative assistance, and post‑operative care, contributing to the overall success of surgical outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assist in pre‑operative evaluations and patient assessments
Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures
Monitor patients' progress and manage post‑operative recovery
Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document all patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records
Educate patients and their families on post‑operative care and recovery
Participate in surgical rounds and contribute to care plans
Stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery
Requirements
Valid NP or PA license in the state of Texas
Experience in cardiothoracic and/or vascular surgery is preferred
Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a high‑pressure environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
Basic life support (BLS) certification required
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8‑hour shifts
Call Requirement: Emergency department beeper call
Setting: Operating room‑based, emergency department
Endo‑vein harvesting and ECMO required
EMR: Epic
Must be board‑certified
Paid travel & expenses
