Mechanical & Plumbing VDC BIM Coordinator

The Role We are looking for a BIM Coordinator to lead multidisciplinary modeling teams across complex engineering projects. This role requires a strong command of BIM software, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive quality and coordination across project stages. As a BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring modelers, ensuring adherence to best practices, project standards, and timelines. You will proactively identify missing or conflicting information, manage RFIs and RFCs efficiently, and conduct in‑depth Quality Control reviews across assigned disciplines. Your role goes beyond execution—you will influence modeling strategies and ensure seamless collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements
An
excellent level of English —both spoken and written—is absolutely essential. Candidates without this requirement will NOT be considered.
Solid experience modeling HVAC and plumbing in Revit
for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and residential construction. This can include process piping, ductwork, sheet metal, mechanical equipment, and plumbing, along with pumps, AHUs, RTUs, chillers, boilers, domestic water, sanitary drainage, gray water, stormwater, medical gases, compressed air lines, heaters, and hangers.
Experience coordinating or clash‑detecting through Navisworks
(Revizto can also be considered but Navisworks will be prioritized). Knowledge of BIM coordination, clash report, QAQC, and model accuracy is required.
A
mechanical or civil engineering bachelor’s degree
(architects could be considered only if they have extensive experience modeling and coordinating MEP trades themselves).
+5 years of experience using Revit and Navisworks for large‑scale MEP projects.
Skilled in QAQC, with the ability to anticipate issues by leveraging team members’ strengths and weaknesses.
Strong understanding of project end‑to‑end scope, kick‑off and set up, requirements, applicable standards, and all related technical documentation.
Experience managing project budgets with a strong focus on cost control and alignment with project objectives.
Experience managing teams of modelers and dealing directly with clients.
Excellent communicational skills.
Nice to have: Familiarity with U.S.-based construction projects.
