Business Systems Analyst – Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE
Role Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst – Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE bridges business needs and technical solutions within the D365 ecosystem. Working closely with the System Architect, Product Owners, and Developers, this role translates business requirements into scalable, effective solutions that drive measurable value.
Base Pay Range $80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities 1. Business Analysis & Solution Translation
Engage with business units to gather, analyze, and document functional and non‑functional requirements.
Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for optimization using D365 capabilities.
Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and system specifications for IT and development teams.
Collaborate with the System Architect (or applicable role) to evaluate scalable design options and ensure alignment with D365 CE architecture and enterprise standards.
Socialize design concepts with business stakeholders and incorporate feedback to refine solutions.
Ensure business processes are fully supported by the system’s capabilities, recommending improvements where appropriate.
2. System Analysis & Platform Enablement
Analyze business needs and map them to relevant D365 CE features and Power Platform capabilities.
Develop and document new business processes leveraging out-of-the-box and extended D365 CE functionality.
Collaborate with technical teams to validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements.
Monitor Microsoft’s D365 CE and Power Platform roadmap to identify opportunities for business enablement and innovation.
Participate in UAT planning and execution, ensuring acceptance criteria are met before production deployment.
Identify, assess, and recommend third‑party solutions compatible with D365 CE to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Stay current on Microsoft licensing implications for D365 CE features and modules.
4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Act as a liaison between business analysts, product owners, and technical teams, ensuring mutual understanding of business needs and technical feasibility.
Partner with developers to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and review solution design.
Support release planning by aligning business priorities, testing schedules, and deployment readiness.
Communicate solution designs, test results, and impacts effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Business Applications Fundamentals or Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant (Customer Engagement).
Experience
>4 of experience as a Systems Business Analyst, System Analyst, or Functional Consultant roles within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem.
Dynamics 365 System admin experience is a must.
Strong understanding of D365 CE modules (Sales, Service, Marketing, Customer Insights) and related Power Platform components.
Experience documenting and managing business requirements through Agile or hybrid methodologies.
Familiarity with SDLC, testing, and change management processes.
Familiarity with agile or hybrid project methodologies.
Skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Solid understanding of business process design and system interdependencies.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
