Systems Administrator - Senior Primary Location: Quantico, VA Clearance: Active DoD Secret Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to lead the configuration, sustainment, and performance optimization of enterprise development and production environments. This role ensures system availability, security compliance, and operational continuity through proactive administration, Agile collaboration, and continuous improvement practices. You'll be part of a high-impact team supporting mission‑critical logistics systems, leading the sustainment and optimization of enterprise‑scale environments while managing configurations, performing system patching and backups, and ensuring uptime and performance across mission‑critical systems.

Specific Responsibilities

Lead the sustainment and optimization of enterprise‑scale development and production environments

Administer Red Hat Linux and Oracle‑based systems including Oracle Exadata and ZFS storage systems

Monitor system logs and performance metrics to ensure optimal system performance

Support Agile Kanban workflows and sprint planning activities

Coordinate with hosting providers and internal teams for issue resolution

Maintain documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines

Support DR/COOP readiness and obsolescence management

Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and engineering teams to support Agile delivery cycles

Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and maintain compliance with security and operational standards

Perform system patching, backup/recovery, and performance tuning

Lead technical outcomes and provide guidance to junior team members

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field

710 years of experience in enterprise systems administration, including Linux‑based environments and Oracle infrastructure

Active IAT/IAM Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security)

Demonstrated experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Exadata, and ZFS storage systems

Proficiency in system patching, backup/recovery, and performance tuning

Familiarity with DoD STIGs, RMF compliance, and cybersecurity best practices

Experience supporting Agile sustainment workflows and DevSecOps pipelines

Leadership experience managing teams and driving technical outcomes

Active DoD Secret Clearance

Experience with Oracle EBS and middleware (WebLogic, SOA Suite)

Familiarity with Agile SAFe frameworks and Planning Increment (PI) events

Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience supporting hybrid cloud or cloud migration efforts (e.g., OCI, AWS GovCloud)

Exposure to AI/ML‑assisted monitoring and predictive analytics for system performance

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Must be able to work in a secure federal environment

Standard office environment with computer workstation

Ability to work on‑site at Quantico, VA location

Occasional physical handling of hardware components and server equipment

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment
