Our client is seeking

TEMPEST Engineers

to support highly sensitive missions within the U.S. Government. In this role, you’ll be an integral part of a specialized engineering team conducting TEMPEST testing, vulnerability analysis, and secure systems assessments to ensure electromagnetic security (EMSEC) of mission‑critical platforms and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Perform

TEMPEST testing

and provide engineering recommendations in secure environments

Set up

Equipment Under Test (EUT)

enclosures according to government specifications

Execute

TEMPEST test methods

and signal analysis procedures

Record, analyze, and report on all test results and issues

Identify, troubleshoot, and mitigate

EMSEC vulnerabilities

Interface with TEMPEST vendors and support project teams on compliance with

NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92

Capture and analyze qualification test data and generate detailed test reports

Verify test requirements defined by

Certified TEMPEST Technical Authorities (CTTAs)

Conduct testing of

certified cryptographic equipment

to assess vulnerabilities

Test

COTS equipment

to identify risks and recommend countermeasures

Ensure consistent application of

IASRD standards

across the Intelligence Community

Participate in

Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs)

with customers, vendors, and cryptographic device users

Required Qualifications

Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II

(CTP II); or

Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Practitioner (TSCP)

– Interagency Training Center certification

3+ years

of TEMPEST testing, design, or engineering experience

Ability to work

onsite in a government facility , only during hours when government officials are present

Additional Consideration We are open to candidates with

hands‑on RF engineering ,

electronics , or

electrical engineering

backgrounds

in lieu of direct TEMPEST experience , provided they hold the required

polygraph clearance

and show strong potential for immediate contribution in this field.

Desired Skills

Experience with secure communications systems and cryptographic equipment

Familiarity with government standards for EMSEC and information assurance

Strong documentation and reporting skills

Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and government stakeholders

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, RF Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
