Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety programs and policies in alignment with DOT and OSHA standards.
Oversee employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring all new hires complete safety training, DISA testing, and certification requirements.
Conduct regular jobsite audits, safety inspections, and field verifications.
Coordinate and schedule monthly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and crew safety briefings.
Maintain full compliance within Avetta, ISNetworld, Clearinghouse, and AEP VERO platforms.
Lead investigations and root cause analyses for all incidents, near misses, and violations.
Maintain employee training and certification records; track renewals and compliance timelines.
Manage PPE inventory, safety gear distribution, and yard/shop safety standards.
Prepare and submit internal safety reports and performance metrics for management review.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Safety Management, preferably in Energy, Heavy Civil, or Transportation sectors.
Strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
Experience with DISA, FMCSA Clearinghouse, Avetta, ISNetworld, and AEP VERO.
OSHA 510 / 511, CUSP, COSS, and related certifications.
Ability to organize and lead onboarding programs and safety training sessions.
Excellent communication and documentation skills; strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software (MOTIVE, JJ Keller, etc.).
Proficient with a computer.
Must be self‑motivated and capable of managing multiple crews and locations.
