Lab Technical Coordinator (MT/MLS - ASCP) - Nights
Full‑time position located at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) Core Lab, supporting night shifts (6:30 pm‑7 am).
Pay range:
$30.28‑$50.29 hr (actual pay based on skills and experience).
Position Details
Night shift: 3–12 hour shifts per week (6:30 pm‑7 am)
Primary and secondary department assignments within the Core Lab
Responsibilities: quality control, scheduling, troubleshooting, CAP checklists, training, validation/implementation of equipment and processes
Rotation as part of the bench rotation
Full‑time (36 hrs per week), non‑remote
Lab equipment: Cerner Millennium (LIS), Epic, Instrument Manager, Sysmex WAM, Cellavision, Biorad Unity, Wellsky, Roche, Ortho‑Visions
MT/MLS (ASCP) certified
Experience and Skills
At least 2 years of generalist hospital lab experience (preferred)
Participation in departmental projects, committees, or process improvement events
Comfortable with Microsoft, strong communication, critical thinking / problem‑solving skills
Experience as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is a plus
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field
MT/MLS – ASCP or equivalent certification
Minimum 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications
Coordination of technical activities: inventory management, R&D, technical procedures, policies, CAP readiness
Testing and processing of routine and complex testing on blood and other specimens
Resource person to staff, teaching, and training new and established personnel
Responsibilities
Assess workload, prioritize work, adjust staffing, assist staff as needed; coordinate schedules to ensure adequate staffing
Maintain laboratory services and quality per system, government, and accreditation standards
Daily technical and administrative operations for the shift, ensuring quality services and goals are met
Develop QA monitors with supervisors, implement processes, evaluate data, identify problems, recommend solutions
Teach and train staff and Clinical Laboratory Scientist students; participate in competency assessments
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field
Experience:
2–5 years
Supervisor Experience:
None required
Licenses & Certifications:
MT/MLS – ASCP or equivalent

5–10 years
