Odyssey Information Services
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role plays a critical part in managing the integrity of financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Lead the month‑end close process, including journal entries and accruals.
Support monthly financial reporting and ensure timely delivery of accurate information.
Provide oversight and serve as back‑up for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
Assist with annual audits by preparing accurate and timely documentation.
Provide ongoing support for inventory costing and margin analysis.
Become a subject‑matter expert on internal systems and tools.
Support the internal control environment by ensuring all documented controls are followed.
Prepare ad‑hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by leadership.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Four to six years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of journal entry creation and review.
Experience with internal controls and audit support.
Familiarity with Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions).
Experience with ERP or other business systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing environment or with cost accounting.
Experience working in a public company or SOX‑compliant environment.
