University Recruiter, Senior
MITRE is seeking an experienced University Recruiter, Senior to join our team of talent strategists who connect extraordinary talent to MITRE’s mission. This dynamic, passionate and outgoing recruiter will help us attract the brightest emerging minds in science, engineering and technology with a focus on AI, Machine Learning, data analytics, and computer science.
Roles & Responsibilities
Identify and recruit candidates for internships, fellowships, and early‑career full‑time roles, managing the full‑cycle recruitment process.
Build trusted partnerships with hiring managers, providing data‑driven guidance on talent availability, recruitment timelines, and sourcing strategies.
Partner closely with the Emerging Talent Senior Manager to align on recruiting priorities, execution plans, and delivery against hiring goals for interns/emerging talent.
Serve as a point of contact for campus engagement, including career fairs, research symposiums, hackathons, capstone presentations, and virtual info sessions.
Build and maintain long‑term relationships with academic partners, including faculty and research centers, to continue positioning MITRE as a top destination for research‑driven careers.
Collaborate with business and marketing partners to co‑create candidate attraction and recruitment marketing initiatives that strengthen MITRE’s employer brand and attract key talent.
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through timely communication, transparency, and a high‑touch, personalised recruiting approach.
Reach out to referrals in a warm, professional manner upon receiving the resume.
Engage in on‑campus events, including career fairs, to build relationships and convert prospective candidates into applicants.
Plan and execute engaging events on campus to attract students to MITRE.
Leverage sourcing tools, talent events, marketing campaigns, academic partnerships, and social platforms to drive candidate engagement and build high‑quality pipelines.
Provide market insights and data on talent supply and demand, pipeline strength, sourcing channel effectiveness to identify trends, recommend adjustments, and continuously improve outcomes.
Create formal offers in Workday system and negotiate final offers as needed.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of Recruiting/Talent Acquisition experience, 3+ in campus recruiting with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong grasp of emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.
Experience managing and prioritising high‑volume requisition loads.
Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, adept at engaging and serving as a consultant to all levels of management and leadership.
Experience with ATS and HCM systems required, preference for Workday experience.
Professional services, technology, and/or government contractor industry experience highly preferred.
Ability to travel up to 25%; requires a minimum of two days per week on‑site.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in government contracting and/or non‑profit recruiting, with a demonstrated understanding of government hiring practices and clearance requirements.
Builds trust and rapport across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal awareness and relationship‑building skills.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$97,000 – $121,500 – $146,000 Annual
