Job Goal
To assure the effective and efficient operation of the school office.
Responsibilities
- Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs them to the appropriate person.
- Receives and places telephone calls and records messages.
- Maintains attendance records of all personnel including substitute teachers.
- Prepares correspondence and memoranda.
- Completes purchase order requisitions, processes shipments received and forwards packing slips to the business office.
- Maintains telephone system.
- Maintains student records and requests records of transferred students.
- Processes all student activity fund transactions in accordance with proper bookkeeping procedures.
- Collects, processes, and maintains records of funds received and forwards monies to the business office for book fees, petty cash and other miscellaneous fees.
- Provides routine care of office equipment.
- Processes payroll and personnel information.
- Maintains a log of visitors to the school.
- Processes new textbook orders.
- Maintains inventories as shall be required.
- Assists with the scheduling of parent/teacher conferences.
- Assists in the scheduling of special education staffings.
- Administers first aid to sick or injured children.
- Performs the duties of the secretary/registrar and secretary health-aide when they are not present.
- Process free and reduced lunch forms.
- Will assistwith the processing of incoming and outgoing student records according to State law.
- Works together with the Health Aide to register all incoming students.
- Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and the internet.
Salary Range
$19.95 - $21.80 per hour dependent upon experience
Working Conditions
10-month position, 7.5 hours per day. K-6 building. Insurance benefits and paid holidays.
