Position Summary As a business function, Compliance & Ethics are equally accountable for both company success and ethical behavior. Our Compliance & Ethics team is committed to enabling well‑informed, risk‑based decisions that get more medicines to more patients, faster. You will lead a cross‑functional team whose remit is global in impact and that ensures the efficient, expedite and compliant operations of Events & Meetings (E&M) both internally and with external vendor partners. This is a key role within the Events and Meetings Leadership team and is accountable for ensuring the implementation, exemplary execution and alignment of the Events and Meetings strategy related to Education, Governance and Operations across the globe to achieve organizational objectives in the most effective manner possible. Additionally, you will be responsible for the development of the clear strategy for Operations as it relates to E&M and the execution against it. This role is of significant support, counsel, influence, and partnership to the global lead of Events and Meetings. You will be a significant advisor in the use of Events and Meetings and have oversight and ability to directly impact the processes, vendors, training, outsourcing, and platforms associated with Events and Meetings. You will make decisions based on data‑driven and factually based insights. You will be responsible for the management of E&M compliance risk, working across the other Risk, Operations and Intelligence teams (ROI), streamlining processes, owning vendor performance, shaping policy, driving focus on HCP experience, and interacting with senior level BMS management.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and own the strategy and execution of education, governance, and operations for E&M, including tech stack enhancements, vendor partnerships, commercialisation model changes, launch effectiveness, and process simplification.

Global process owner for Events and Meetings processes and governance framework, driving global alignment and policy harmonization.

Lead complex projects across a matrixed environment, managing change, resources, and budgets.

Directly manage the Contracting Hub, focusing on contract production, invoicing, and payments.

Proactively manage risk factors, including regulatory changes and financial robustness.

Act as key point of contact for ROI teams, IT, Business Insights, Procurement, and other functions to enable strategy development and execution.

Own technology solutions specific to Education and Governance affecting Events and Meetings.

Partner with ROI Reporting and Analytics to drive process automation and data visibility.

Provide insights on event planning, budget utilisation and resource optimisation.

Serve as an internal reference for evolving external standards for E&M tactics, presenting to senior executives.

Manage vendor relationships, negotiations, contingency planning, and risk mitigation.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.

Report directly to Lead of Events and Meetings and sit as part of the E&M Leadership Team.

Provide functional leadership and direction to a diverse cross‑functional team, setting an example of change management.

Hold regular reviews focused on performance, risk, and proactive evolution across the globe.

Ensure continuous enhancement and evolution of the E&M model globally.

Navigate complexities to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Deep expertise in healthcare compliance data and platform management; 10‑12+ years of Events and Meetings/contract experience in the pharmaceutical compliance space.

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 10+ years of related experience.

Proven ability to work independently on all deliverables.

Extensive BMS internal experience managing transformational change.

Direct management of team results, goal setting, performance management, and coaching.

Experience leading complex, multi‑disciplinary projects with resource and budget allocation.

Strong influence and trust in difficult or stressful situations, guiding teams calmly.

Excellent communication skills, concise and clear for diverse audiences.

Strategic mindset with global acumen and leadership disposition.

Experience with technology transformation, process simplification, and emerging technology trends.

Ability to work in a global environment executing projects on continuous improvement, agility, and operational excellence.

Proven track record of developing talent and effective people management in multicultural settings.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities, constructive collaboration across functions.

Experience establishing end‑to‑end processes and investigating complex risk areas.

Compensation Overview Princeton, NJ – U.S. $180,800 – $219,081 (starting FTE basis). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final individual compensation will be based on demonstrated experience.
