Overall Responsibility The Electrical Engineer/Designer shall be engaged in projects involving, but not limited to, the design of facility related electrical distribution systems, interior and exterior lighting, and emergency backup systems. They will participate in project teams to undertake the design and delivery of services related to design and construction of electrical systems, as well as the overall project. This position shall be responsible to Electrical Practice Lead.

Essential Functions

Functions as Electrical Designer on assignments under supervision of a senior electrical engineer/design.

Ensures coordinated design on projects.

Participates in the design development of electrical work.

Creates and reviews drawings.

Participates in the development of design drawings.

Able to provide advisory information during the construction phase.

Able to perform site surveys and contributes to engineering studies.

Attends and contributes to office, client and project meetings.

Participates and ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards.

Follows up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns.

Participates in internal project meetings on a regular basis, including being responsible for minutes.

Qualifications Position Requirements

Needed Skills

Working experience with software: Revit, AutoCAD, Visual, GenSize, and SKM Power Tools.

Working experience and/or ability to learn and become capable in applying codes specific to area of expertise.

Good communications and negotiation skills.

Ability to multi‑task.

Ability to prioritize tasks.

Detail and safety‑oriented.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.

Basic understanding of multi‑discipline systems and installation including MEP, fire protection and fire alarms, and low voltage/communications/data work.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Education/Experience Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. EIT Preferred. One (1) to Five (5) years’ experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility.

Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.

Valid state driver’s license (any in US).

In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.

Ability to pass pre‑hire drug testing and background check(s).

Ability to meet worksite security requirements including criminal background checks and DHS threat assessment evaluations.
