General Description Manage Employee Benefits insurance accounts and service as their day‑to‑day contact.
Responsibilities
Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients but may include some self‑insured clients.
Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
Prepare materials for client meetings. Educate, advise, and aid clients on all compliance topics (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, Health Care Reform).
Set up new group insurance contracts for existing and new clients.
Manage the renewal process, including preparation of appropriate contractual changes.
Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources (wellness, communications, strategies, pharmacy).
May be responsible for marketing and placement of new benefit products.
Prepare client applications for review.
Determine most appropriate carriers.
Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
Make recommendations to clients.
Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost‑reduction opportunities.
Champion client cross‑selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
Conduct on‑site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
Coordinate, manage, and attend client meetings.
Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes and/or clarifications.
Resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
4+ years of experience in employee benefits industry or related marketplace.
College degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of employee benefits.
Must currently hold a life and disability insurance license or obtain it within 4 months of employment.
Comfortable with internet‑based programs and Microsoft Office products.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Able to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
Able to define problems and generate potential solutions.
Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.
Good attention to detail and ability to self‑check work.
Able to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
