Our client, a leading importer and marketer of premium Mediterranean food products,

is seeking a

Trade Operations Manager

to oversee trade systems, sales compliance, and budget execution across the U.S. market.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that works closely with Sales, Finance, and Marketing to ensure trade investments are managed effectively, operational compliance is maintained, and field teams are equipped with the right tools and insights to succeed. The role reports to the

Vice President of Trade Marketing

and includes direct management of a small team responsible for trade system support and customer compliance.

Key Responsibilities Trade Systems & Compliance

Serve as the key liaison between Sales, Finance, and internal teams to support trade operations, contractual compliance, and retail execution.

Manage a team of 2–3 staff overseeing trade system processes and accurate customer invoicing.

Administer the

Vistex

trade system to ensure accurate loading and revision of customer agreements and promotions.

Oversee

SAP/Vistex/Board systems

and provide training and support to internal users.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Own and manage

national trade funding rates

for all product categories in alignment with margin and volume targets.

Lead the

monthly trade forecast

process within Vistex and collaborate with Sales to ensure accuracy.

Monitor and control trade spend utilization to ensure alignment with strategic brand goals and promotional strategy.

Partner with Finance to reconcile budgets, align on spending strategy, and maintain clear audit trails.

Performance Management

Track and analyze key performance indicators (MAPS:

Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing, Shelving ) to guide sales execution and retail planning.

Collaborate with brokers to review

post-promotional performance

and identify opportunities for improvement.

Scorecard monthly results and provide data-driven recommendations to sales leadership.

Evaluate incremental trade spend requests and ensure alignment with corporate volume and profit goals.

Cross-Functional Support

Ensure timely and accurate internal communication around trade promotions, deductions, and sales initiatives.

Assist in developing and refining trade promotion strategies and key customer initiatives.

Support the roll-out of new item distribution and ensure financial soundness of execution plans.

Provide Sales teams with strategic tools and trade performance data to support go-to-market execution.

Qualifications:

6+ years of professional experience in

CPG trade marketing, sales operations, or a related industry .

Minimum 5 years in a

manager-level

role with direct oversight of systems, budgets, and people.

Strong working knowledge of

grocery retail , trade compliance, and national account operations.

Proficient in

SAP , and financial forecasting systems. Experience with

Vistex , preferred.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally.

Analytical and process-driven mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.

Prior experience managing or training a team is preferred.
