Position Overview The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role within the corporate accounting function, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and driving process improvements. This individual will manage a team and collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting.
Manage and mentor a team of accountants; provide guidance, training, and professional development.
Prepare key reporting and financials for leadership and private equity.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Partner with the Controller and Finance leadership to streamline processes and enhance internal controls.
Lead annual audit activities, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
Coordinate and communicate with external resources, external auditors, and tax.
Research and resolve complex accounting issues; ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and GAAP research.
Participate in ERP and process improvement initiatives, including automation and integration projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm preferred).
Strong U.S. GAAP experience.
Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, privately held business environment.
