DSJ Global is currently partnered with an industry leading chemical manufacturer based in the Houston, TX area who is looking to add a Senior Process Engineer to their growing team. The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for providing direction and information to key interfaces to ensure that day-to-day operations achieve production and optimization goals while adhering to corporate, environmental, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the other functions and the shift teams to identify and deliver continuous improvements in all areas of the operation including EHS performance, reliability, quality and production costs.
Use heat and material balances, fluid flow/hydraulic principles to troubleshoot process problems and design new equipment.
Closely monitor process conditions, analyze and investigate deviations from standard. Develop and drive sustainable solutions to restore the process to full function.
Serve as the primary interface within their assigned plant unit for critical work processes including MOC, RCFA and capital project development.
Analyzes batch cycle times. Identifies and implements process optimization improvements to establish consistent cycle times and reduce overall cycle times.
Manage unit Process Safety Management (PSM) aspects including Management of Change (MOC) process as needed.
Participate in incident investigations using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and/or other tools.
Prepares flow diagrams, P&ID's, and equipment and control specifications.
Assist the Operations Leader in developing plans to ensure cost effective use of assets.
Use six sigma or other defect elimination tools and lean tools to find solutions.
Collaborate with Technology regarding unit technical issues as well as determine the proper design or operation of plant assets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
10+ years of work experience in a high-hazard chemical process.
Excellent computer skills and be able to become highly proficient in the use of modern digital tools.
Proficient in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and PSM.
Experience working with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles.
