We are seeking a highly skilled
Project Management Analyst
with strong experience in
construction cost estimation and project controls
to support large-scale infrastructure and facilities projects in Newport News, VA.
This position plays a key role in overseeing the operational aspects of ongoing projects and ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and on-schedule delivery. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of
analytical ability, project management expertise, and deep knowledge of construction methods and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the operational aspects of multiple ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between project management, planning, and execution teams.
Review project status reports, schedules, and budgets to ensure progress aligns with scope and objectives.
Prepare detailed and accurate
construction cost estimates , budgets, bids, and proposals based on project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Identify and evaluate labor, material, and equipment requirements for precise cost forecasting.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather and validate cost data.
Conduct
risk assessments
and identify potential
cost‑saving opportunities
to maintain project profitability.
Track and analyze project expenditures to ensure adherence to financial goals and targets.
Maintain and update cost databases, industry pricing, and vendor/subcontractor records.
Review supplier and subcontractor proposals to ensure accuracy and competitive pricing.
Develop and present reports to management and stakeholders with clear recommendations and insights.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
and
10+ years of experience , or
Master’s Degree
and
8+ years of experience , or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Prior experience in
construction management, cost estimation, or engineering
is required.
Strong understanding of
construction methods, materials, industry standards, and project documentation.
Proven experience developing and managing
project budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
Excellent
communication and collaboration skills
with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in
project management tools, cost estimation software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Attributes
Experience supporting
industrial, federal, or shipyard infrastructure projects.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.
Demonstrated success managing complex projects from planning through completion.
